Community Energy and Sharing

Together Towards Cleaner Energy and Stronger Communities

Shared energy is a modern and, at the same time, a human-centered approach to electricity production and consumption.
It allows municipalities, households, schools, and businesses to jointly produce renewable electricity and share it fairly, transparently, and beneficially across the region.

In the Podlipansko region, the first such projects are already emerging under the leadership of ENERKOM Podlipansko.
Thanks to this community approach, renewable energy gains deeper meaning – it’s not just about savings, but also about cooperation, independence, and strengthening local ties.

How Does Community Energy Work?

  • Electricity generation usually takes place on the roofs of municipal buildings, schools, or private homes – typically using solar panels.
  • Energy sharing is managed by the energy community, which connects producers and consumers within a single group.
  • Members – whether they produce or only consume – can access cheaper, green electricity without relying on large suppliers.
  • The system is regulated and supported by legislation and aims to become a common part of everyday life in municipalities across the Czech Republic.

Why Get Involved?

  • Savings on electricity costs

  • Greater energy independence for municipalities or households

  • Support for sustainability and climate protection

  • Joint investment in the local future

  • Stronger local economy and communities

Community Energy Is for Everyone

Don’t have a roof? No problem!
You can still join the energy community as a consumer. And if you are a municipality, school, or company with a suitable building, you can become a producer or project partner.

Thanks to support from the National Recovery Plan (NPO) and the European Union, we also offer free assistance with assessment, design, and preparation for those interested.

Together, we can make it happen. Community energy is the path to cleaner energy and a better future – for each and every one of us.
