Photovoltaic Power Plant Designs for Municipalities

We help determine when photovoltaics make sense – and when they don’t.

Are you considering installing solar panels on your municipal buildings but unsure whether it’s technically, economically, or operationally beneficial?

That’s exactly why we offer municipalities in the Podlipansko region a professional photovoltaic system design service, provided by ENERKOM Podlipansko.

What You Get:

As part of the service, you will receive:

  • A technical simulation of the photovoltaic system using PV*SOL software, which models electricity production based on the specific location, roof angle, shading, and panel type.

  • An economic feasibility assessment, including estimated savings and suitability for self-consumption or sharing within a community energy framework.

  • A final recommendation on whether the project is worth implementing and in what form.

We consider not only the building type but also its energy consumption, the timing of usage, and possibilities for storage or feed-in to the shared grid. This way, we help local governments make decisions based on data rather than impressions.

When Does a Photovoltaic System Make Sense?

  • You have a suitable roof (minimal shading, oriented SE–SW)
  • The building has sufficient daytime electricity consumption (e.g., school, municipal office, community center)
  • You want to reduce operating costs and increase energy self-sufficiency
  • You are considering joining a community energy scheme

When to Be Cautious?

  • If electricity consumption is minimal or mostly at night (e.g., warehouses, seasonal buildings)
  • If roofs are in poor condition or heavily shaded
  • If there is no meaningful way to use excess electricity (neither in your own buildings nor within a community)
  • If there is no willingness to take on future operational responsibility (photovoltaic systems require ongoing management and maintenance)

How Much Does It Cost?

Currently, the service is completely free of charge, as it is funded by a grant from the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MPO) through the EFEKT program and supported by financing from the European Union.

How to Get Involved?

Just contact us — we’ll arrange a brief introductory meeting, assess the potential of your buildings, and get started.

The outcome will be a clear and understandable report to support decision-making by your municipal council or board.
